Linda Rosenstock, MD, MPH, is a well-recognized physician executive in academia and government, with broad experience in clinical care, health care delivery, population health, research, and health and regulatory policy. She is Dean Emeritus, UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, and is currently Professor of Health Policy and Management, Environmental Health Sciences, and Medicine at UCLA.

Dr. Rosenstock is the former Director of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). There, she led an award-winning public-private partnership to create a national research agenda in worker health and safety (NORA) and significantly expanded the agency’s budget and mission. In recognition of her efforts, in 2000, Dr. Rosenstock received the Presidential Distinguished Executive Rank Award, the highest executive service award in the U.S. government.

Dr. Rosenstock is past Chair of the Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH) and past President of the Society of Medical Administrators (SOMA). In January 2011, she was appointed by President Barack H. Obama to the Advisory Group on Prevention, Health Promotion and Integrative and Public Health.

Dr. Rosenstock has served on numerous public and privately held corporate boards, as well as those of non-profit and governmental entities. She currently serves as Chair of the Board of Engender Health, a leading women’s global health non-governmental organization, is a Director of the SCAN Foundation, and a Trustee and member of the Executive Committee of The Wild Center, a regional environmental and natural history museum in the Adirondacks, NY.

Dr. Rosenstock received her M.D. and M.P.H. from The Johns Hopkins University. She received advanced training at the University of Washington, where she was Chief Resident in Primary Care Internal Medicine and a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar. She is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine.

Dr. Rosenstock has served on the Board of SCAN since 2017.
