“With my cumulative experience in family medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics and palliative care, I look forward to helping my SCAN Embrace patients achieve a better quality of life through medical intervention and conversation,” Elaine says. She has always aspired to have a career that both satisfies her curiosity in medicine and the human body and allows her to serve the community in a meaningful way. After working as a physician assistant in Internal Medicine for several years, Elaine now reaches both goals by caring for senior patients to help them live their best possible lives.

Elaine is a cancer survivor who learned from personal experience how open communication and setting goals can make a positive difference in a patient’s care experience. In working with her senior patients, Elaine aims to have meaningful conversations that will help her create and carry out a care plan that both meets the senior’s needs and honors their preferences. Elaine is inspired by the words of prominent American physician Edward Livingston Trudeau: “To cure sometimes, to relieve often, to comfort always.”

When not with her patients, Elaine is spending time with her kids and husband, enjoying good food, watching musicals and going to Disneyland.

Elaine received a Bachelor’s Degree in General Biology from University of California, San Diego, and a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Western University of Health Science.
