It starts with your Women’s Health Coach, who will help you make the best use of your plan benefits and services. And continues with your doctor and care team. As a SCAN Inspired member, you can receive care at a Women’s Center of Excellence in SCAN’s network. These centers offer expertise in cardiac care, breast health, pelvic health, and other health issues women face as they age. Just choose a primary care doctor at a medical group affiliated with a Women’s Center of Excellence in SCAN’s network. Ask your Women’s Health Coach for more details!

Acupuncture, Chiropractic Care, and Massage Therapy

Living with aches and pains can impact every part of your health, from how you feel physically to your emotional wellbeing. If you’re living with chronic discomfort, SCAN Inspired provides you with coverage to help relieve and manage your pain.

Acupuncture and Chiropractic Care

  • $5 per visit
  • 30 visits per year (combined)

Therapeutic Massage

  • $5 per visit
  • 20 visits per year

You don’t need a doctor’s referral to receive these services, but you’ll need to schedule your appointment with a provider who’s part of the American Specialty Health (ASH) network.

What to expect during your first appointment

During your first appointment, the ASH provider will talk with you and do an exam to find out what's wrong. If you need more than one appointment, the provider will submit a treatment plan to ASH. Once approved, you can schedule additional appointments and begin your treatment.

Mental Health Care

Life has its ups and downs and caring for your mental health is important to your overall health and wellness. That's why your SCAN plan covers mental health care and gives you a choice for where to get that care.

You can always start with your primary care doctor. Talk with them about how you’re feeling, and they can give you a referral to a mental health specialist. Your copay for these visits is $0.

Or connect directly with a licensed mental health professional through your Behavioral Telehealth benefit. There's no cost for these virtual visits. And if you need help getting set up for your virtual appointments, call the SCAN HEALTHtech hotline.

Over-the-Counter Benefit with CVS

As a SCAN Inspired member, your over-the-counter (OTC) benefit makes it more affordable for you to take care of you! In 2025, you have a $125 allowance every quarter to buy a variety of non-prescription health and wellness items from CVS Pharmacy. Any unused amount will roll over from quarter to quarter until the end of the year—meaning you have $500 to spend on OTC items this year!

In addition to things like toothpaste, vitamins and sunscreen, you can also use your allowance to buy:

  • Enhanced skincare products
  • Probiotics
  • Menopausal supplements
  • Leak-prevention pads
  • And many other products important to a woman’s health.

Use your SCAN OTC card to shop in store, via app, online or by phone. Shopping at a CVS Pharmacy location offers the widest selection of items and allows you to use in-store coupons and specials to help your allowance stretch even further. Learn more about your OTC benefit.

SCAN Formulary for Prescription Drugs

With expanded coverage for women’s wellness, the SCAN formulary has the prescription drugs and products you need for little or no cost.

When you use a SCAN Preferred pharmacy, you’ll pay $0 for:

  • Preferred generics and generics (Tier 1 and 2)
  • Hormone replacements
  • Estrogen replacement therapy products (such as Estradiol vaginal cream and patches)
  • Select non-Part D prescription vitamins (including Ergocalciferol 1.25 mg capsules)

SCAN Preferred pharmacies offer lower copays for most medications—find one near you here. Save time by getting a 3-month supply of the medications you take on an ongoing basis. This gives you 100 days’ worth of medication.

Weight Management Reimbursement

Is it harder to keep off those unwanted extra pounds as your metabolism changes with age? To help you adjust to these changes and maintain a healthy weight, SCAN Inspired members can get a $100 one-time reimbursement for enrollment in a weight management program.

How to use this benefit:

  1. Sign up for the weight management program of your choice and pay the enrollment fees.
  2. Submit a copy of your receipt showing the amount you paid to SCAN Health Plan.
  3. You will receive a one-time reimbursement up to $100.
