SCAN Adds Prospect Medical Group and Health Excel to Provider Network in San Diego
LONG BEACH, Calif.— Jan. 12, 2022—SCAN Health Plan®, one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit Medicare Advantage health plans, has added Prospect Medical Group to its San Diego network, effective January 1, 2022. SCAN members now have access to 300 primary care physicians and more than 730 specialists through Prospect and Health Excel, an independent physician organization that partners with Prospect to bring quality care to people in San Diego County.

Prospect Medical Group is managed by its affiliate, Prospect Medical Systems, a management services organization with 25 years of experience managing a full range of support services for doctors and hospitals. Prospect owns or manages 28 independent physician associations across six states, with approximately 400,000 members accessing a variety of insurance products.
SCAN Health Plan® is an HMO plan with a Medicare contract. Other providers are available in our network.
