Exciting Times. Important Times.
A message from the CEO
In the last SCAN Club, I announced our 300,000-member milestone. Since then, we’ve opened two SCAN community locations: in Henderson, Nevada and at Leisure World-Seal Beach, California. And more are in the works.
These centers offer another way for members and others to get questions answered, learn about SCAN, and take part in activities and events. Exciting times, to be sure!
More Important Than Ever
But grand openings and milestone celebrations aren’t the whole picture. And I want to assure you that we’re not getting distracted from the reason we’re here: to give you a better Medicare experience.
I’ll be honest—it can be a challenge. Many of you may have experienced your own set of challenges when trying to use the healthcare system, with or without SCAN on your side.
It’s a problem and I don’t think enough health plans admit it. And if you don’t admit it, you can’t fix it. This is where SCAN is different. For one, we’re not-for-profit. We don’t have shareholders we have to please. Instead, we have members looking to us to make things better.
Back to Where We Started
This sounds all too familiar. SCAN was founded by seniors, for seniors. They were clear about what they needed to stay healthy and independent. And we’re committed to living up to our original mission. That means challenging the status quo. It means owning up to what’s not working. And, most of all, it means listening to you.
What We Hear
We know from formal surveys—and from meeting with so many of you—that SCAN is doing many things well. If you’ve also had good experiences with SCAN, we’d appreciate if you would leave us a review on Google.
And if there’s something we need to fix or improve, I’m listening. Please email me directly at sjain@scanhealthplan.com. Your experience matters.
With gratitude,
Sachin H. Jain, MD, MBA, FACP
