(LONG BEACH, Calif. – March 12, 2014) — SCAN Health Plan, the fourth largest not-for-profit Medicare Advantage plan in the United States, has promoted Lisa Roth to serve as vice president of healthcare and member services, effective immediately. Roth previously served as director of care coordination for the health plan. In her new role she will continue to be responsible for SCAN’s care coordination programs and will assume responsibility for member services.

“In her 16 years at SCAN, Lisa has effectively implemented many changes in SCAN’s products and activities, always focusing on the member and enabling SCAN to continue to fulfill our mission,” said Eve Gelb, senior vice president of healthcare services for SCAN. “Lisa will now play a key role in all areas of member contact, which will ultimately allow for better integration between care and service for SCAN members.”

In addition to her new role overseeing member services, Roth continues to be responsible for special needs plan activities, home and community-based service assessments and authorizations, and continuity of care services as well as the SCAN PAL Unit, a specialized customer service for dually-enrolled Medicare and Medicaid/Medi-Cal members. She also oversees Care Transitions, a case management program designed to prevent hospital readmissions.

Roth has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare field, including hospital, skilled nursing facility and managed care settings. She earned her Masters of Science in gerontology from California State University, Fullerton.

For 35 years SCAN Health Plan has been focusing exclusively on the unique needs of seniors and others on Medicare.
