Urgent Care Centers
SCAN covers services received at urgent care centers. These same-day care centers offer help for minor medical conditions that can’t wait for a doctor’s appointment but aren’t serious enough for the emergency room. Examples of conditions treated at urgent care centers include aches and pains, rashes, sprains, upper respiratory and urinary tract infections and vomiting and diarrhea.
Be sure to find out what urgent care centers your doctor works with – call your doctor’s office to find out. Your doctor may be able to see you that day or offer extended hours just for these types of situations. If not, he or she will direct you to the right urgent care center for your needs. Copays for urgent care visits vary depending on your SCAN plan. Please review your Benefit Highlights to see what your plan’s urgent care copay is.
