(VENTURA, Calif.) — Older adults who want to learn more about the various functions of their cell phones are encouraged to attend “Tech Connected,” a free cell phone training class for seniors, on Thursday, March 27, at 10 a.m. at the SCAN Health Education Center in Ventura.
“New technology doesn’t have to be intimidating,” said Steve Lehman, MBA, MPH, manager of the SCAN Health Education Center. “We have patient and knowledgeable volunteers who can show you how to text; store contact information; and, if you have a smart phone, we can show you how to have some fun with it, too.”
The class was designed to help seniors understand the basic and advanced functions of their cell phones or smartphones. After a brief overview, seniors will be paired with a volunteer to have their individual questions answered regarding the use of their cell phone or smartphone.
The SCAN Health Education Center is located at:
6633 Telephone Road, Suite 100
Ventura, CA 93003
There is no cost to attend; however, seating is limited and registration is required. To register, call 805-658-0365.
