Dr. Romilla Batra is the Chief Medical Officer of SCAN Health Plan. She sets clinical policies and procedures, provides oversight of clinical programs, and helps design initiatives that support healthy, independent aging. She also works with SCAN’s provider partners to advance senior care practices.
In addition, Dr. Batra leads Independence at Home, a SCAN community service that provides vitally needed services and support to seniors and their caregivers throughout California regardless of plan membership.
Dr. Batra is a board-certified internist with more than 20 years of experience as a medical director, clinician and educator. Prior to joining SCAN, she was the director of ambulatory internal medicine and associate program director for medicine residency at the University of California, Irvine.
Dr. Batra completed her residency in internal medicine at UCLA and earned her MBA at UC Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business, where she continues to teach on the faculty.
