We Speak Your Language

In-Person Translation

We know how important it is for members to be able to talk to their doctors and to understand fully any information and instructions. So we will arrange to have a translator meet members at their doctor’s appointments. This service is free of charge and includes American Sign Language translators, too. Call SCAN Member Services to make the arrangements. It’s best to call as soon as you’ve made your appointment, but at least 48 hours before.

Over the Phone

You may already know that when you call our Member Services department we can help in just about any language. We have dedicated bilingual (English/Spanish) representatives and 176 other languages at our fingertips. Once a Member Services representative comes on the line, all you have to do is say your preferred language (“Korean”). The representative will then dial in our translator service for on-the-phone help. Again, this service is free to our members.

Want to reduce the amount of mail you receive from SCAN?

Every year, Medicare requires that we mail plan materials to each of our members. However, we can now offer you the opportunity to view your plan materials on-line. You will no longer have to deal with those heavy books.

Silver&Fit®

Many SCAN benefit plans include the Silver&Fit® Program, designed for seniors who want to improve their quality of life by exercising more. You can enroll in either their Fitness Facility membership or their Home Fitness program. Once enrolled, you’ll receive a list of the health clubs near you (you will choose one) and information about home fitness options. To find out if your SCAN benefit plan includes Silver&Fit, contact Member Services, or refer to your 2013 Benefits Overview.
