(LONG BEACH, CA – March 23, 2010) — SCAN Health Plan, the fourth largest not-for-profit Medicare Advantage Plan in the United States, has promoted Eve Gelb to serve as vice president of health care services administration, effective April 1. Gelb previously served as director of the project management office for the health plan.
“Eve played a major role in building a project management capability at SCAN that has been very effective and successfully utilized by many departments,” said Deborah Miller, senior vice president of healthcare services. “Her strong skill set and passion for member care will serve SCAN well as we continue to navigate the ever-changing healthcare environment while continuing to provide the best possible benefits and services to SCAN members.”
Eve’s responsibilities will include oversight of several healthcare services business units, project management of the NCQA Certification readiness assessment, and continued work on major corporate projects. In addition, she will serve on various cross-functional steering and work committees.
Gelb has nearly two decades of experience in healthcare services. Prior to joining SCAN in 1997, she worked as a health educator at Texas Children’s Hospital. She earned a Master of Public Health degree at Tulane University and an undergraduate degree at the University of California, Los Angeles. Gelb is a member of the Project Management Institute, Los Angeles Chapter.
