(LONG BEACH, CA – September 3, 2008) — SCAN Health Plan, one of Southern California’s fastest-growing heath plans for seniors with Medicare, has appointed Aly Duzich as community relations manager serving the downtown Los Angeles area. In this role Duzich will work with local community organizations to help seniors better understand the complexities of Medicare, Medi-Cal, and their health care options.

A dedicated advocate for seniors, Duzich has worked at several agencies that specialize in providing services to older adults, including the Los Angeles County Department of Aging, St. Barnabas Senior Center, and the Los Angeles Caregiver Resource Center. Most recently she served as a geriatric health specialist at SCAN.
Ms. Duzich holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in gerontology from the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology. As a graduate student she worked as a research assistant at the National Resource Center on Supportive Housing and Home Modifications, a university-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to making supportive housing and home modification a more integral component of successful aging, long-term care, preventive health, and the development of elder-friendly communities.
Ms. Duzich is bilingual (English/Spanish) and is committed to improving the quality of life for seniors through specialized services, programs, education and advocacy.
