(October 30, 2006) — SCAN Health Plan is hosting a series of community forums
open to all Medicare-eligible individuals in Ventura County. Among the topics to
be discussed are Medicare, health plan benefits, and physician and medical group
options. The forums will be held as follows:

- Friday, November 10, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Crowne Plaza Hotel, 450 East Harbor Blvd., in Ventura.
- Friday, November 10, from 2 to 4 p.m., Courtyard by Marriott, 600 East Esplanade Drive, in Oxnard.
These educational seminars are designed to help seniors understand their options
and make informed decisions about their healthcare. There is no charge to

SCAN recently announced that SeaView IPA, the leading independent physician
association serving western Ventura County, will join the health plan’s provider
network effective January 1, 2007. As a result, SCAN members in the county will
have access to SeaView’s extensive network of primary care and specialty
physicians in Camarillo, Fillmore, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Santa Paula and Ventura
as well as the following hospitals: Community Memorial Hospital of San
Buenaventura, St. John’s Regional Medical Center, St. John’s Pleasant Valley
Hospital, and Santa Paula Hospital.

Founded in 1977, SCAN currently serves more than 90,000 Medicare-eligible
individuals in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura and Kern
counties. This month the plan announced expansion into San Diego County as of
January 1, 2007. In addition, the plan was recently awarded a three-year
contract by the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System to provide long-term
care services to low-income elderly and physically disabled Arizonans enrolled
in the Arizona Long-Term Care System program in Maricopa County. Further
