(December 21, 2006) — SCAN Health Plan announced today that Bright
Medical Associates Inc. will join the health plan’s physician network,
effective January 1, 2007. As a result, SCAN members will have access to
Bright Medical Associates’ outstanding physicians and health education
programs. 
The physicians and staff at Bright Medical Associates have been part of
the community for many years, focusing their healthcare services and
programs on the lifestyles, interests and needs of patients. Beginning
in 2007, SCAN members can choose from 23 Bright Medical primary care
physicians conveniently located in Whittier, Norwalk, La Mirada and
Hacienda Heights. The participating hospital is Presbyterian
Intercommunity Hospital.

Plan. “Their commitment to quality healthcare and to the health of their

Bright Medical Associates.” 
SCAN is one of California’s fastest-growing senior-focused health plans,
currently serving more than 90,000 Medicare-eligible individuals in Los
Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura and Kern counties.
Effective January 1, 2007, SCAN will begin serving members in San Diego
County through a partnership with Scripps Health. In addition, the plan
was recently awarded a three-year contract by the Arizona Health Care
Cost Containment System to provide long-term care services in Maricopa
