
SCAN Health Plan Names Chris Zorn as
Vice President of Internal Audit
(LONG BEACH, CA – January 23, 2006) — SCAN Health Plan, one of
California’s fastest-growing Medicare Advantage Plans, has
promoted Christian K. Zorn to vice president of internal audit.
Zorn has been with SCAN for over two years, during which time he
established the company’s first internal audit department.

In his new position Zorn will report to the board of directors’
audit committee and will continue to oversee the internal audit
and special investigative units within the company. In that role
he assists management and the board with the identification and
alleviation of business risk and holds primary responsibility
for the company’s anti-fraud program. Zorn will also continue to
be an active participant in several key initiatives, including
programs focusing on overall process improvement and disaster
recovery.

“Chris has played a key role in the development of information
technology and corporate governance mechanisms within SCAN,”
said David Schmidt, chief executive officer. “As he continues to
build upon these accomplishments, we look to Chris to add his
expertise to additional strategic processes that will strengthen
our organization for years to come.”

A graduate with degrees in political science and accounting from
Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, Zorn has been a CPA for over 20
years and brings to SCAN auditing experience in a number of
industries. He primarily works in the areas of internal audit,
risk management, process improvement, organizational consulting
and information technology management experience. Zorn is a
member of the chief audit executive group of the Internal
Auditors Association and the Information Systems Audit and
Control Association.
