SCAN Health Plan Names Emily Arison Vice President of Human Resources

(LONG BEACH, Calif. – September 27, 2011) — SCAN Health Plan has promoted Emily Arison to vice president of human resources, effective immediately. Arison most recently served as director of human resources for SCAN, the fourth largest not-for-profit Medicare Advantage plan in the country.

In her new role Arison will be responsible for all HR functions including strategic planning, employee relations, talent acquisition, training/development, health and welfare benefits, performance management, and corporate wellness programs. She will report directly to Doug Jaques, general counsel for SCAN Health Plan.

Arison initially joined SCAN in 2001 as a senior HR representative. She was promoted to manager in 2006 and to director in 2008. Arison has also held positions at WebVision Inc. in Torrance, Calif., and University of Nevada, Reno.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology at the University of California, Santa Barbara and a master’s degree in sociology at the University of Nevada, Reno. Arison is certified by World at Work as a compensation professional and is a certified professional in human resources by the Society for Human Resources Management.
