SCAN Health Plan Appoints Gil Miller

as Senior Vice President of National Sales

(LONG BEACH, CA – September 12, 2011) — SCAN Health Plan announced today the appointment of Gil Miller to senior vice president of national sales, effective immediately.

“Gil is an innovative and results-oriented leader who brings a wealth of strategic sales experience to SCAN,” said Chris Wing, president and chief executive officer of SCAN Health Plan. “His strong track record in sales and membership growth, as well as his unique Medicare Advantage background, will serve SCAN well as we work to grow our member base in current and potentially new markets.”

Prior to joining SCAN, Miller served as executive vice president of sales for Bravo Health, a Medicare Advantage health plan based in Baltimore, Maryland. At Bravo, Miller provided strategic leadership for all sales distribution channels including sales associates, telesales representatives and brokers/agents. He built and developed an exemplary sales organization, growing membership from 64,000 to 417,000 members, and helped move the organization from the 112th position to 19th nationally.

Before Bravo, Miller served as vice president of enterprise sales for PacifiCare/Secure Horizons. He has also worked as vice president of performance management for United HealthGroup and has held executive positions outside of healthcare with American Financial Resources and General Electric Capital.
