Randy Stone Named Chief Financial Officer of SCAN Health Plan
(LONG BEACH, CA – August 31, 2011) — Healthcare executive Randy Stone has been named chief financial officer of SCAN Health Plan, effective immediately. Since April, Stone has been serving as chief financial officer for SCAN Health Plan Arizona and SCAN Long-Term Care Arizona. He will continue to serve in those capacities as part of his new, expanded role.
“We will be looking to Randy to play a key role in SCAN’s growth and in our ability to provide products and services that enhance the health and peace of mind of Medicare beneficiaries,” said Chris Wing, CEO of SCAN Health Plan. “Randy has the experience and mission-centered perspective to provide financial leadership to all of our service areas in California, Arizona and potentially beyond.”
Prior to joining SCAN, Stone served for nine years as chief financial officer of L.A. Care Health Plan in Los Angeles, the largest public healthcare agency in the country servicing 850,000 low-income members and generating revenues exceeding $1 billion. Before that he served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Unimed Management Company, a physician practice company consisting of seven separate medical groups servicing nearly 500,000 commercial and senior individuals.
Stone earned an MBA in accounting/finance and a bachelor’s degree in management and accounting, both from California State University, Long Beach.
For more than 30 years, SCAN Health Plan has been focusing on the unique needs of seniors and is now the country’s fourth largest not-for-profit Medicare Advantage plan. SCAN’s community-giving program is focused on helping to meet immediate needs – and assist with closing gaps – in community services.
