Peitzmeier Promoted to Vice President of Sales for SCAN Health Plan Arizona
(PHOENIX, Ariz. – November 29, 2011) — SCAN Health Plan Arizona has promoted Richard Peitzmeier to vice president of sales, effective immediately. Peitzmeier joined SCAN Health Plan in 2008 to manage sales, growing Arizona membership in the not-for-profit Medicare Advantage plan from less than 1,000 members to more than 14,000 members in Maricopa and Pima counties.
“Dick’s contributions and accomplishments over the past three years have facilitated the tremendous growth of SCAN Health Plan Arizona’s Medicare Advantage membership,” said Elizabeth Russell, chief executive officer of SCAN Health Plan Arizona. “His passion for senior issues is evident in everything he does, and we look forward to his continued contributions to our executive team.”
For more than 20 years, Peitzmeier has held a variety of healthcare leadership roles with a focus on organizations that care for seniors. Prior to joining SCAN, he served in management capacities for Bravo Health, INSPIRIS and FHP Health Care/PacifiCare. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Arizona State University.
Peitzmeier is actively involved in many senior organizations. He is a member of the Alzheimer’s Association Regional Leadership Council and chair of its development committee; a member of the board of directors for Elder Friends, a safe house for victims of late-life domestic violence; and a member of the program board for Duet, an organization that provides services for seniors in Maricopa County. Over the years he also has served the Phoenix Area Agency on Aging, Governor’s Conference on Aging, the Arizona Town Hall, and the Older Adult Service and Information Systems (OASIS).
For more than 30 years, SCAN Health Plan has been focusing on the unique needs of seniors and today is the fourth-largest not-for-profit Medicare Advantage plan in the United States. SCAN Health Plan Arizona serves approximately 15,000 members. Further information may be obtained at scanhealthplan.com.
