Hans Eckardt Joins SCAN Health Plan as Director of Marketing


(LONG BEACH, CA - October 5, 2004) - SCAN Health Plan, a Long Beach-based senior HMO, has named Hans Eckardt as its director of marketing, effective immediately. Eckardt brings to SCAN more than 14 years of leadership experience in managed care and pharmaceuticals.

At SCAN, Eckardt will oversee the health plan's marketing team as well as its call center. He will also be responsible for developing and implementing multi-media campaigns and managing the company's Web site and marketing collateral. In addition, Eckardt will help develop new strategies for membership growth.

"Hans' deep experience in marketing and business development will greatly assist SCAN as we continue to build enrollment while assuring that our members best interests remain our number one priority," said Sherry Stanislaw, vice president of operations at SCAN. Before joining SCAN, Eckardt held executive marketing roles at PacifiCare and FHP International. He holds an M.B.A. from the Peter F. Drucker School of Management in Claremont.
