SCAN Health Plan Promotes Sharon Bakshi
to Vice President of Pharmacy
(LONG BEACH, CA – February 18, 2008) — SCAN Health Plan, one of California’s fastest-growing Medicare Advantage Plans, has promoted Sharon Bakshi, PharmD, MBA, to vice president of pharmacy, effective immediately. Dr. Bakshi is a certified geriatric pharmacist, a certification that distinguishes her knowledge of and skills in providing comprehensive pharmacotherapeutic care to the elderly.
In her role at SCAN, Dr. Bakshi oversees the prescription drug benefit for SCAN members, pharmacy operations, and medication therapy management program.

Bakshi earned her pharmacy doctorate from the University of Southern California and completed her geriatric residency at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, Sepulveda Division. Following her residency training, Dr. Bakshi joined SCAN in 2004 as a clinical pharmacist and was later promoted to director of pharmacy. She also holds a master's degree in business administration from the Paul Merage School of Business at University of California, Irvine.
