
SCAN Health Plan Honored at Annual
Gala Celebrating Senior-Friendly Organizations
(LONG BEACH, CA – February 14, 2005) — SCAN Health Plan was honored last week by
South County Senior Services for the company’s commitment to improving the
health and well-being of seniors in South Orange County communities. The
recognition was received at the Senior Services Captain’s Ball that is held
annually to honor organizations or individuals who have gone “above and beyond”
in their caring towards seniors.

“Helping seniors remain healthy and independent is our foremost priority,” said

South County Senior Services has chosen to recognize us for our efforts.”

South County Senior Services is a charitable, non-governmental organization
serving communities from San Clemente to Newport Beach. Its mission is to
provide

resources for seniors to maintain their independence and quality of life.
Proceeds from the Captain’s Ball benefit Meals on Wheels, Adult Day Services and
other senior services. Also receiving special recognition at the event were Mr.
and Mrs. Thomas Beckwith, Bob Stegner of Ingram Micro, and the Change a Life
Foundation.

SCAN Health Plan currently serves 65,000 seniors in most of Los Angeles, Orange,
Riverside and San Bernardino counties. In addition to providing members such
comprehensive health plan services as routine physicals, hearing exams and
